ACTIVITIES IN COMMEMORATING ‘MARTYRS AND WOUNDED SOLDIERS’ DAY (27/07/1947 – 27/07/2013)
On occasion of commemorating 66 years of ‘Martyrs and wounded soldiers’ day, VASCO held many activities to show our gratefulness to heroes who scarified their lives for Nation’s Independence and Freedom.
From 14/07/2014 to 29/07/2014 VASCO co-ordinated with Vietnam Airlines Corporation’s Party Committee Bureau to organize the trips back to Con Dao Island for 3 groups of Vietnam Airlines Corporation’s Party members.
It had been an honor for the trips’ Organization Board because of the presences of Mr. Bui Van Cuong – The Party Central Committee’s commissioner, Party Committee Secretary; Mr. Do Nga Viet – Ministry of Transport’s Labour Union’s Chairman; Mr. Pham Viet Thanh, Party Committee Secretary, the President of Board of Members; Mr. Pham Ngoc Minh, Party Committee Vice-Secretary, Vietnam Airlines Corporation’s CEO.

All 3 groups offered incense and wreaths at Hand Duong Martyr Cemetery where there were more than twenty thousands revolutionists resting in peace. They also visited the system of Con Dao prisons where imprisoned more than two hundred thousands prisoners including political prisoners, students, patriots and criminal prisoners as well in 113 years.
The date 27/07/2014 is not only the date to appreciate the martyrs but also death anniversary of political prisoners who bravely sacrificed in 113 years in Con Dao. They had been conferred the title of ‘Hero of the people’s armed forces’
It was VASCO that carried out flights for 500 in the total of 600 used-to-be political prisoners and their relatives to Con Dao to attend the ‘Hero’ title cerebration and death anniversary for all martyrs. On behalf of Vietnam Airlines Corporation, VASCO sent representative to offered incense and wreaths at the cerebration.
The trips had made the reunion of the used-to-be political prisoners emotional with full of unforgettable memories about the years of fighting. They offerred incense to show their gratefulness to their comrades who sacrified and never left Con Dao where had been called ‘hell on earth’.
On 28/07/2014, the Organization Board of the ‘Hero’ title cerebration had sent a thank you letter to leaders of Vietnam Airlines and VASCO as well.
In addition, in HCM city VASCO and hold a trip to the Cu Chi Martyrs Cemetery for officers to offer incense and lighted candles to express our appreciation to the heroes who sacrificed for the Country’s Independence and Freedom.
Everybody also visited and gave presents to martyrs’ relatives who are working at VASCO in specific and Vietnam Airlines’ Tan Son Nhat’s area.
“When you eat a fruit, think of the man who planted the tree” has been tradition of VASCO’s officers. Though VASCO is facing difficulties, VASCO has never forgotten the tradition. Since 2010, VASCO has been contributing 328 million to building 4 houses for family that dedicated to the Nation’s revolution in Ca Mau, Phu Yen, Quang Tri, Quang Nam; to Vietnam Airlines Corporation’s Charitable fund….
